ADR Navigator Default Screen

Figure 1 (left): ADR Navigator Application main Screen: ADR (Navigator) page and the Order Status are displayed by default.

The default screen displays the application toolbar (see figure 2) across the top of the screen.
Immediately below is the open ADR Navigator Page where a user has easy access to special features and functions. Across the bottom of the screen opens the StatusPage (orders and executions) with its own toolbar and set of functions. See below for more details in the ADR Navigator Page and Order Status Page sections.

The Application toolbar

Located at the top of the application window, the application toolbar is fixed and cannot be modified.
It provides mouse-click access to the major components of this application as well as various quick links and customization options for the user. See below for a brief description on each button.

ADR Navigator Page

Note: ADR page toolbar menu options are also available through the right-button mouse click drop-down menu.

ADR Page - Display Area

This page permanently displays a predefined list of ADR symbols and the corresponding data with the following fields: Symbol, Company Name, Bid Size, Buy ADR/Sell ORD, SellADR/Buy ORD, Ask Size, Cum Vol, Last, I.Vol, Country, Sector, Ration, Dividend, Ex-Date.

Fields are all displayed by default but the user can customize what is displayed through the Field Chooser feature on the ADR page toolbar.

Column widths can be modified (expanded/contracted) by placing the mouse over a column border (pointer will change to left /right arrow) then right-click and drag left or right.

Short Cuts: Double click on the Buy ADR/Sell ORD (green) or SellADR/Buy ORD (red) columns to open the Order Ticket for the corresponding symbol.

ADR - Charts

To get a Chart: Single-click on a symbol to highlight entire row, then click on the Chart button in the ADR page toolbar to open.

Chart menu options:

Symbol field:
select a symbol from drop-down menu.

Chart type:
select from Candle (default), Bar, Price chart.

Chart Interval:
Daily (default), Weekly, Monthly.

Chart Toolbar icons:

Alert window

Click this icon to open the Alert Settings dialog box.

In check box provided, click to check and receive system alerts on filled or partially filled orders.

Specific Alert conditions can be set for symbols in the ADR page:

Select a symbol from the drop-down list, then select a field to base the alert message on (Last, Bid, Ask, IVol); then choose a Condition symbol from the drop-down list ( >, <, =, <=, >=) and enter a value in a decimal format in the field provided.
ADD: Click to add this alert condition to the list.
Repeat same process for each symbol to set an alert condition to.
The system will keep track of all alert conditions entered here and automatically pop up an alert when conditions are met.

Edit: Click on a saved condition in the list to highlight then click Edit> change conditions and click Add when done.
Delete: Click on a saved alert condition in the list to highlight then click on Delete to remove condition.
Close: Click on this button to close window and save all changes.
Cancel: Click to cancel (close window) without changes taking effect.

Time and Sales (T&S) window

From the ADR page select a symbol (click to highlight) then click on T&S icon for the ADR page toolbar to view time and sales for that symbol.

In the Time and Sales pop up window; choose a symbol from the drop-down list to view dynamically updating time and sales data, latest on top. Data for the following fields are displayed: Time, Trade, Inc.Vol, Bid, Ask, and Size.

Menu options:

'More Data' : Click on this button to retrieve more time and sales records, added at the bottom of the list.
Change the font size for the data displayed in this window by choosing a new font size from the drop-down menu.
Print icon: Click to print the time and sales records list.

Order Status Page


Figure 6 (above): Status Page ( Orders and Executions) located directly below the ADR page.

In this section the users can toggle between the Orders Status and Executions Status page.

The Orders Status page opens by default in this section. It displays the status for all submitted orders and all executed orders for the day, last on top.

Order status toolbar

The following fields are displayed by default in this page:
Symbol, ST (status), Buy/Sell (color coded:green for BUY order and Red for Sell orders), Price, Quantity, ExecQ, LveQ, Order ID, Time, and Account#

Status Codes are as follows: A for Open order; F for filled order(executed), P for partially filled orders: get more details from the application toolbar>Tools>Order Status Codes.

Note: All toolbar menu options are also available through the right-button mouse click drop-down menu, for each component.

Executions Status Page

To Open: In the Status Page caption bar (immediately above the toolbar) click on the Executions link to open and replace the default Order Status page. (see figure 7 above)

All executions for the day are displayed, last on top.

The following fields are displayed by default: Time, Symbol, B/S, Price, Order ID, Exec ID, Account #.

Toolbar options

Order Ticket

The Order Ticket can be accessed through the Application toolbar > choose Ticket; or through the ADR page by DOUBLE clicking directly on the Buy ADR and/or Sell ADR columns to open.

The order ticket window will open on top of the ADR Navigator page, and can be moved to any desired position. See description of fields below. Default setting for the order ticket can be set, see User Preferences available on the Application toolbar.

A Message field
(blue border) located at the bottom of the TICKET window displays all system errors/messages.

To Place an Order user must fill in the following fields if defaults values are not predefined:

Minimum order Quantity (MinQ)*:


Note: To customize default setting for order ticket go to the Application toolbar > choose 'User Prefs' option.

Basket Orders

Basket Order Ticket window can be launched through the Application Toolbar > click on Basket to open.

In the top section of Basket order window a user can
enter a new Basket Name for a set of orders just created and displayed in the order list area below; see 'To create or add orders to a basket'.

Note: Once a Basket Name has been saved it will automatically appear in the Basket Name drop-down menu for future retrieval.

User can also select an existing Basket Name from the drop-down list: its corresponding orders will be displayed in the order list area below.
Basket order commands are as follows.

 

 


Save - Import - Send

To create or add orders to a Basket:

Add: Click to add order to the order list below ticket and to a Basket.
Remove: Click to remove a highlighted order from the list of orders in a Basket.
Edit: Click this button after highlighting an order from the orders list: this action will populate the order ticket with the existing values, where new values can be entered.

Located at the bottom of the Basket orders window is a blue rimmed field where all system errors are displayed.

Once all orders for a single Basket have been entered, the Basket (with unique Name) can be saved for future retrieval or sent immediately. See above section Save, Import, Send for details.

Note: if the Basket order window is closed before a list of orders are saved with a Basket name all orders will disappear and are not retrievable.

TO IMPORT from Excel spreadsheet: you can import a list of orders into basket Order Ticket.
Format thein Excel spreadsheet before importing: save the file as "CSV (comma delimited)" format. The CSV file should have the following fields(same format) as follows:

1. With MinQty

fields: AccountID,Symbol,Side,SShort,Qty,Price,TIF,MinQty,SShort Locator

2. Without MinQty

Fields: AccountID,Symbol,Side,SShort,Qty,Price,TIF,SShort Locator

Terms explained:
Side: B = Buy and S = Sell

SShort: Y = Short Sale, and blank for Normal

SShort Locator: Short Sale Locator Code and blank for Normal

TIF: DAY = day orders and GTC = Good Till Cancel orders 

Note: Data will be imported only if all the orders are valid

Order Book

Order Book Window can be launched directly from the ADR page: DOUBLE click directly on a symbol within the symbol column to open. This window can be accessed through the Application toolbar > click on Book to open. Order ticket will be automatically populated with data displayed in the ADR page for that symbol.

Across the top of the window is displayed the 'depth of book' view containing Bid, Size, MinQ/Ask, Size and MinQ data.

To place an order: Immediately below the market data area is an order ticket: where most fields are already populated with the values taken from the ADR page (if the short cut is used) and the predefined defaults (see User Prefs) for others.
All Fields are required (Symbol, Quantity, Type, TIF, Account#, MinQ, Price, Ratio) except for Sell Short.
The Ratio (field) is predefined and automatically populated with the corresponding symbol.
The Sell Short field is optional: place check mark to indicate 'sell short'. For details on the each fields see Order Ticket section above.

SUBMIT: click to submit order. This action will open the confirmation window before an order is placed.
Cancel: Click to cancel order and close window.

A blue rimmed message field is displayed across the bottom of this window. All system messages are displayed here.

History

Order status history and Executions history window is accessed through the Application toolbar > click on History to open.

In this window order status and order execution histories can be retrieved.
by symbol.


To get history

Select a Symbol
from a drop-down menu (the default is All).

Press Dates:
'From' and 'To' (mm/dd/yyyy)

Hit Enter
key to retrieve records.

The fields for order status records are the following: Symbol, ST(status), Buy/Sell, Price, Quantity, ExecQ, LvsQ, Order ID, Time, Account#.

The fields for the Execution status records are as follows: Time, Symbol, B/S, Price, Qty, Bust Qty, Order ID, Exec ID, Account #.

Symbol Book

To look up a symbol for an ADR name from the Application toolbar > click on Symbol Book to open.

Start by typing in a few letters of the name to retrieve a list of matches for those letters.
Fields displayed for each ADR name are as follows: ADR Name (full), ADR Symbol, Ratio, Dividend, Ex-Data (ex=expiration), Sector, and Country.

This window can be re-sized and repositioned; each column width can also be enlarged by left-clicking and dragging on the border line between columns (pointer changes to double arrow).


User Preference

User preferences can be set for the order tickets through this dialog box.

To access: from the Application toolbar click on 'Prefs' option.

The following field values can be predefined by the individual user: Quantity, Step size for quantity, Account. Click 'OK ' once the selections have been made to save settings.
